Can you put a fish finder on a small fiberglass pelican boat? If so where do you put it at?
do you need a battery for it inside the boat or does it take portable? i dont know how to set it up

yep, I have a portable finder, the transducer is held on by a large suction cup and the unit has its own batteries, works quite well and I have had it for several years.
There are undoubtedly better ones out now, as long as the transducer is looking as nearly close to straight down as possible you will be just fine.

Of course you can. The unit itself can be mounted anywhere inside the boat. The transducer can be mounted on the bottom of the transom or glassed into the bilge of the boat.
