Wats the best way to catch a hummingbird?

i hav 3 hummingbirds living in my yard. i wanna catch one and tak a good look at it so i can see if it is male or female. i wanna no if theres gonna by babie hummingbirds around or just adults. i no its wrong but i dont want to hear that so if u only hav to say that dont answer me. ill try it and if your answer works ill put u as best answer.

You can tell the sex of a hummingbird by their coloration..not by catching one..there would be nothing for you to look at ..birds don’t have genitalia. It is breeding season..so most likely birds are nesting. By the way..not only is it wrong to capture native wild birds..it is ILLEGAL. You can be fined or jailed for it. Just leave the birds in nature where they belong.

Okay WHY? They’ll bred and have their chicks better if you leave them be. If you try to disturb one, it’ll have a heartattack and die and then you won’t have any to look at either. Let nature be nature. Okay They may look harmless but they inflict a nasty bite and will peck your hand bad so let them be. Put some feeders outside the window and keep it full of fresh sugar water them wait If they have young theres a site you can find that they’ll use your data to help and research more about these interesting little guys. Let them be take lots of pictures. I use the stop action film in my Camera to catch them in flight. Theonly way a bird can be sexed is to send one of its featers to a special place to have them sex it for you. Very $$$$$

What type of humming bird is it your are trying to catch? A Ruby throated? Wouldn’t it be easier to look at them with field glasses? It would make me as guilty as you if I was to tell you have to catch one. There is a reason for the laws. If you choose to break this law what other laws will you break because you want to? Can’t you see the selfishness of this. You should learn to communicate with the rest of the world. Webster’s Dictionary would be a great place for you to start. The kewl text lingo is ok for a cell phone or an idiot who can’t spell. For the rest of us it is quite discerning.
