Wheelchair bound Bass fishing from boat?
I want to take my nephew out on my Ranger 20′ Bass boat and was wondering if there are any precautions I should take. He is 25 years old veteran of war in Iraq and been in a chair since 2004. He has amazing upper body strength but he has no legs. He loves to bass fish and I would love to take him on a nice fishing trip to Lake Texoma. Are there any of you with experience in mobility impaired boating and fishing and if so, what do I do to make a safe enjoyable trip.
Thanks for all help.
He hasn’t enough leg stub to buckle in a seat harness so what the heck now. He wants to go on an 80mph boat ride and who can blame him.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary is a good place to start.
Also the ADA.
I know there are associations for mobility impaired sailors out there that are worth a search.
Main thing is to get him out there safely & let him enjoy the water.
Best regards to both of you

They make seatbelt equipped swivel type bow chairs for this exact purpose. Be sure to have him wear a lifevest at all times, cause he won’t want to stay put!!
No alchohol…except in the emergency kit you DO have on your boat at all times…..and cell phone or two-way radio or both. Enjoy your fishing!!
